“The true focus of revolutionary change is never merely the oppressive situations which we seek to escape, but that piece of the oppressor which is planted deep within each of us, and which knows only the oppressors' tactics, the oppressors' relationships.” ― Audre Lorde.
Emotional Healthcare - Chaplain Support
Our Chaplaincy services offer accompaniment: spiritual, emotional, relational and practical wholistic care to support people thru the stressful moments of life.
Our sessions focus identifying coping skills and trauma care that will support emotional regulation, so when life circumstances trigger our woundings we are better equipped at working thru to address suffering and stress.
Our scope of support ranges from working with individuals living with chronic health conditions, disability, hospice, trauma, caregivers, educators, first responders, teenagers and marginalized communities.
Our philosophy of healing trauma and approach to mental health are focused on intentional decolonized emotional support and social emotional learning to address patterns of trauma from the inequities brought about by systemic oppression.
Methods of Support
Utilizing Social Emotional Learning, Art Therapy, Sound/Energy healing modalities, Embodiment Praxis, Applied Behavioral Analysis, and the Clinical Pastoral Education Model of Action-Reflection-Action with Mindfulness, we will work with emotional wellbeing to cultivate coping mechanisms rooted in restorative healing.
An Example of How we use an Emotion that can be redirected to support:
Fearlessness is not the absence of fear, but rather our willingness to embrace and work with fear, appreciating it's intelligence, without getting stuck or frozen, providing clarity and energy. We all have innate bravery, and learning to utilize fear that awakens our innate bravery.
